About

I founded Eye on the Tigers in July 2013 with a few Princeton hockey freshmen Q&As. My goal was to create a site with comprehensive coverage of Princeton men’s hockey that can’t be found anywhere else.

Now, it’s a place for all news related to Princeton hockey, including breaking news, game stories, features, recruit and alumni information, infographics and photo galleries. Don’t forget to follow the blog on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine. If you have any story ideas, tips, comments or questions, please email me at jashvinapshah@gmail.com

And if you can spare a few dollars, please donate – it helps me keep this site up and running (it takes a lot of time, energy, and I don’t get paid for this).

I’ve been freelance covering Princeton hockey since the summer of 2012, when I started writing various feature stories for The Princeton Packet.

Currently I cover Big Ten hockey for College Hockey News, Flyers prospects for Hockey’s Future and the New Jersey Devils for Inside Hockey. I also own a jewelry business — Based In Wire — where I design, make and sell jewelry.

From 2011-13, I covered BU men’s hockey for WTBU Sports, BU’s student radio station. I was also the station’s social media coordinator, so I ran our Facebook,TwitterInstagram accounts. And on some occasions I also served as a photographer at hockey games.

Over my four years with WTBU Sports, I also produced a two-hour sports talk show and occasionally served as color commentator for men’s hockey and women’s lacrosse broadcasts.

During the school year I also worked for BUILD, tutoring inner-city children in Roxbury, Mass. I worked there for four years, tutoring in English while imparting positive values. I worked there for four years and loved it. .

I interned for WEEI.com in the summer of 2012. My work at WEEI consisted of helping maintain the site by compiling pieces ranging from interview highlights and potential Celtics draft profiles to short news stories.

I studied abroad in Sydney from January-May 2012, and while I was there I interned for The Daily Telegraph‘s sport department. With The Daily Telegraph I assisted in daily operations with the paper, ranging from helping with layout to researching. I covered press conferences of various sports — mainly rugby league — and compiled news stories.

From June-December of 2011, I  interned for NESN.com, writing different stories while covering the Head of the Charles and Futures at Fenway.

    1. He is actually. I thought he was on the list but it seems I did leave him out. Thanks for pointing that out! He’s the captain of the Providence Bruins right now.
