About Me

I’ve been freelance covering Princeton hockey since about last summer, writing various feature stories for The Princeton Packet.

I also write for College Hockey News and freelance for the New York Hockey Journal.

I just graduated from Boston University with a degree in journalism and I’ve covered hockey for the past three years.

In addition to freelancing, I own a jewelry business — Based In Wire — where I make and sell jewelry.

Over the past two years I covered BU men’s hockey for WTBU Sports, BU’s student radio station. I produced a two-hour sports talk show and occasionally served as color commentator for M Hockey & W Lacrosse broadcasts. I was also the station’s social media coordinator, so I ran our Facebook,TwitterInstagram accounts. And on some occasions I also served as a photographer at hockey games (I took almost all of our Instagram pictures).

During the school year I also worked for BUILD, tutoring inner-city children in Roxbury, Mass., teaching them how to write and read while imparting positive values. I worked there for four years and loved it. They’re an amazing bunch of kids. I’m glad every day I have the chance to make a real impact by working with them.

In the past I have  interned for WEEI.com. My work at WEEI consisted of helping maintain the site by compiling pieces ranging from interview highlights and potential Celtics draft profiles to short news stories.

I studied abroad in Sydney from January-May 2012, and while I was there I interned for The Daily Telegraph‘s sport department. With The Daily Telegraph I assisted in daily operations with the paper, ranging from helping with layout to researching. I covered press conferences of various sports — mainly rugby league — and compiled news stories. I also interned for NESN.com from June-December of 2011, writing different stories while covering the Head of the Charles and Futures at Fenway. And I blog for the Uncommon Discussion, a BU Library blog. It’s fun.

I’ve started my fair share of novels and it’s still my dream to have one published.

I grew up a football fan so that’ll always be my favorite, but ice hockey is poised to take over. I’ve watched Formula One longer than the NHL though, and it’s also one of my favorite sports to watch. I’m a Patriots, Devils, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins fans. (Boston born, grew up in NJ–that’s why I’m a Devils and Bruins fans). I have my favorite teams, but I’m not biased.
