Matt Farris Becomes Undergraduate Assistant Coach

Former Princeton hockey player Matt Farris will join the team as an undergraduate assistant coach, the team said.

Farris, who is a senior this year, suffered from back problems and was told by a doctor over the summer that he should retire.

Through three years with Princeton, Farris played in 60 games and recorded 16 points (5g, 11 a). He missed the first half of his junior season due to an injury. He earned a spot on the 2013 and 2012 ECAC All-Academic Teams.

The defenseman spent three years in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede, where he scored 72 points and was named the league’s scholar athlete of the year in 2007-08.
