We’re counting down the days until Princeton hockey’s season opener by featuring a different player each day. Since there’s 27 days until the season’s start, today’s spotlight is on defenseman Kevin Ross.
What you need to know: The senior has played in 66 games over his Princeton career and was injured twice. Ross scored 20 points (3g, 17a) and made the ECAC All-Academic Team all three years.
Last year: Ross played in 12 games before an injury in January kept him out for the rest of the season. He recorded one assist and a minus-4 rating with 16 penalty minutes.
BCHL: Through three seasons with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, Ross appeared in 168 games and scored 90 points. Ross registered 59 of those points over 59 games in his last season with Alberni Valley, when the team won a regular-season conference title. Ross also finished as a finalist as the BCHL’s top defenseman that seasons. The Bulldogs named Ross the team’s top defenseman in each of his three seasons with Alberni Valley.
Ross likes to spend his offseason mountain climbing.
